Encuentran muerto a ex quarterback Steve McNair

Nashville, Tn., 4 Jul. (Notimex).- El ex mariscal de campo de Titanes de Tennessee y de Cuervos de Baltimore, Steve McNair, fue encontrado sin vida este sábado en un apartamento del centro de esta ciudad, informó la policía local.

Según Don Aaron, vocero de la policía, el egresado de Alcorn State, de 36 años de edad, sufrió una herida de bala fatal en la cabeza. Una mujer también fue encontrada muerta con McNair.

El portavoz confirmó que la policía acudió a una vivienda tras un llamado y encontró allí muertos al ex pasador y a una mujer. Ambos habían sido baleados, pero el representante de la justicia dijo que las autoridades aún no saben qué sucedió.

Aaron agregó que ya tienen identificada a la mujer en forma preliminar, pero no divulgó su nombre.

El oriundo de Mount Olive, Mississippi, quien jugó 13 temporadas en la NFL, 11 de ellas con los Titanes y sus últimas dos con Cuervos de Baltimore, se retiró al final de la campaña de 2007.

"Estamos tristes y sacudidos por la noticia de la muerte de Steve McNair", dijo el propietario de Titanes, Kenneth "Bud" Adams Jr., en un comunicado, donde agregó que "fue uno de los mejores elementos en nuestra organización y uno de los más queridos por nuestros fanáticos".
