(AP) - Más de la mitad de los aficionados que contestaron una encuesta opinaron que Alex Rodríguez no debería entrar en el Salón de la Fama después de haber admitido que usó esteroides.

¿Y qué lugar ocupan los venerados récords? A esos mismos aficionados les importa cada vez menos.

Una encuesta de Associated Press-GfK divulgada el miércoles también demostró que los aficionados están perdiendo todo el interés por el problema del uso de esteroides.

Se considera que Rodríguez, con 553 jonrones, podría quebrar el récord de Barry Bonds, que conectó 762. Cinco de los 12 mejores bateadores en la historia: Bonds, el dominicano Sammy Sosa, Mark McGwire, el cubano Rafael Palmeiro y Rodríguez - han sido manchados por acusaciones de haber usado esteroides.

Según la encuesta, 62% de los aficionados de béisbol ahora le resta importancia a los récord del juego por esa misma razón. Pero, ¿qué sucede con sus marcas personales?

"Uno no puede apartar las cifras de esos jugadores", destacó el miércoles el toletero de Texas Josh Hamilton, suspendido del béisbol en múltiples ocasiones por el uso ilegal de drogas.

Mientras tanto, en lo que respecta a Rodríguez, un 52% de los entrevistados dijo que no se le debería permitir ser consagrado en el Salón de la Fama cuando sea elegible, cinco años después de su último partido.

En una encuesta de AP-AOL realizada en abril del 2006, un 61% de los aficionados dijo que Bonds no debería ser consagrado al Salón de la Fama.

Eric Scott, de 32, indicó que el toletero de los Yanquis "debería ser suspendido".

Rodríguez admitió el 9 de febrero que usó drogas ilegales durante la temporada 2001-03 mientras jugaba con los Rangers de Texas. El martes, dio detalles en una conferencia de prensa, relatando que su primo le inyectaba drogas para mejorar el rendimiento, procedentes de la Repúbica Dominicana durante ese período.

Triste noticia para A-Rod...Pero A-rod siempre fue buen jugador desde que empezo su carrera con Seattle recuerdo que era jonronero y oportuno y ese ano casi fue el campeon bateador quedo como en tercer lugar,.no creo que en ese tiempo ya usaba esteroides..Y recuerden son 104 beisbolistas en esta lista, en los proximos dias van a salir a la luz publica mas nombres..cuantos seran latinos?...Yo pienso que el que prendio la mecha de todas las investigaciones anteriores fue el mmarica de Canseco..
