La muerte y los impuestos. Dos cosas seguras en la vida. Certezas inmutables con las que todos podemos contar.

Pero en el mundo del boxeo, el sol no siempre sale en el este. Lo que es cierto hoy, mañana podría ser totalmente falso. Ese es el caso con la búsqueda del próximo rival del flamante campeón welter boricua, Carlos "El Indio" Quintana.

Se pensaba que todo estaba listo para que hiciera su primera defensa contra el veterano de mil batallas, "Sugar" Shane Mosley. Pero salió a relucir un problemita: no le preguntaron al Sugar.

"Nadie me habló personalmente acerca de esa pelea", dijo Mosley en una entrevista publicada en el portal endi.com. Mosley aseguró que está enfocado en enfrentarse a Zab Judah el 17 de mayo, y que luego, su deseo es la revancha contra Miguel Cotto, actual monarca welter de la Asociación Mundial de Boxeo.

El plan del californiano, según informa endi.com, es vencer a Judah para luego medirse a Cotto en julio, si éste a su vez derrota al mexicano Alfonso Gómez el 12 de abril. Sólo entonces consideraría una contienda frente a "El Indio" Quintana.


Por otro lado, la Organización Mundial de Boxeo le ha dado más tiempo a Antonio Margarito para decidir si reta a Quintana, o de lo contrario sube al ring contra el puertorriqueño Kermit Cintrón. Ahora tiene hasta el miércoles, 20 de febrero para anunciar su decisión.
