Quintana: si no hay billetes, no hay pelea

PONCE, Puerto Rico (AP) - Carlos Quintana no está dispuesto a recibir la misma cantidad de dinero que percibió en su primer combate titular ante el estadounidense Paul Williams y también desea que el pleito se traslade del 7 al 14 de junio.
El campeón welter de la Organización Mundial de Boxeo (OMB) dijo el martes a la AP que aún no ha firmado el combate titular de desquite.
"Se supone que yo gane más dinero en esta pelea que en el primer combate en el que obtuve el campeonato welter pero me están ofreciendo poco dinero", dijo Quintana.
"Me están ofreciendo el mínimo", dijo, sin dar detalles.
Se estima que Quintana devengó un salario de $250,000 por el primer combate en el que se impuso por decisión unánime a Williams y el monarca cree que el desquite "vale mucho más de $250,000".
"Además, yo quisiera que el pleito se celebrará el 14 de junio y no el 7 como se ha estado comentando", dijo.

Quintana sorprendi a todos al vencer a Williams el pasado 9 de febrero.
