Sale Ichiro del 'slump' y Japón zarandea a Corea del Sur 14x2

TOKIO (AP) - Ichiro Suzuki salió el sábado de un bajón y condujo al campeón defensor Japón a una victoria de 14-2 sobre Corea del Sur en siete entradas, con la que el equipo avanzó a la segunda ronda del Clásico de Béisbol.

El campeón olímpico Corea del Sur jugará el domingo contra China, donde el ganador también avanzará. China derrotó a Taiwan 4-1 en el primer partido del sábado.

Ante un estadio a toda su capacidad, de 45.640 personas, Suzuki estableció la pauta para Japón en el primer turno al bate del partido con una línea recta a la derecha del abridor surcoreano Kim Kwang-hyun.

El jardinero de Seattle avanzó a segunda gracias a un sencillo de Hiroyuki Nakajima y luego anotó la primera carrera para Japón mediante un sencillo de Norichika Aoki por el medio.

Japón tomó una ventaja de 3-0 en la primera entrada tras un doblete de Seiichi Uchikawa al jardín izquierdo con el que anotaron Nakajima y Aoki.

El derecho de los Medias Rojas de Boston Daisuke Matsuzaka, el Jugador Más Valioso del Clásico de 2006, concretó la victoria tras retener a Corea del Sur a sólo dos anotaciones en cuatro hits durante cuatro entradas.
