Tampa, Fl., 1 Feb (Notimex).- El receptor Santonio Holmes se adjudicó el nombramiento de Jugador Más Valioso del Super Bowl XLIII, al darle un triunfo dramático a Acereros de Pittsburgh, por 27-23 sobre Cardenales de Arizona.

El receptor acerero, el sexto de su posición en llevarse este nombramiento, se sublimó con una recepción casi perfecta en el límite de la "zona prometida", con 42 segundos por jugarse, para arrebatarle a Cardenales una victoria que creían haber asegurado menos de dos minutos antes.

De esta forma, Holmes unió su nombre al de jugadores como su compañero Hines Ward, quien este año jugó disminuido por una lesión, Deion Branch (Nueva Inglaterra), Jerry Rice (San Francisco), Fred Biletnikoff (Oakland) y Lynn Swann (Pittsburgh), todos receptores que recibieron este honor.
