Ya piensan salvadoreños en Panamá

SAN SALVADOR (AP) - El técnico de la selección de El Salvador, el mexicano Carlos de los Cobos, aseguró que la goleada de 12-0 que El Salvador propinó a Anguila fortalecerá "la confianza" de los seleccionados para enfrentar a Panamá en la segunda ronda de la eliminatoria de la CONCACAF.

"Va a ser un duelo muy parejo, así como va a ser difícil para El Salvador, seguro que va a ser difícil para Panamá", advirtió el técnico tras el choque del miércoles ante los caribeños en esta capital.

De los Cobos respondió así en rueda de prensa tras ser consultado sobre la presencia en el estadio del técnico de Panamá, Alexandre Guimaraes. "Vamos a llegar bastante bien preparados a ese compromiso", reiteró el estratega de los salvadoreños.

La histórica goleada a Anguila en el arranque de la eliminatoria de la CONCACAF dejó automáticamente clasificados a los salvadoreños que solo esperan el choque de vuelta del 23 de marzo.

Panamá está a la espera del ganador de la serie y debutará en la segunda ronda programada para junio.

"Estoy muy satisfecho con los muchachos y contento, porque estamos formando una verdadera selección que cada vez se fortalece más", señaló de Los Cobos que está al frente de El Salvador desde septiembre del 2006.

El técnico mexicano agregó que gestionan enfrentar a Trinidad y Tobago el 19 de marzo, antes del segundo choque contra Anguila.

De Los Cobos tiene como objetivo clasificar a El Salvador por tercera ocasión a un mundial de fútbol, después de México 1970 y España 1982.
