    A pesar de la crisis política, Honduras va a la Copa Oro

    30 junio (AOL Latino) - El presidente de la Federación Hondureña de Fútbol, Rafael Leonardo Callejas, aseguró que a pesar de la tensa situación política que vive su país por el golpe de estado vivido el pasado domingo, la selección acudirá a disputar la Copa Oro 2009.

    Callejas, quien también fue presidente de la República entre 1990 y 1994, reconoció que al interior de la selección, los jugadores viven un ambiente de incertidumbre por sus familias.

    “En este instante nosotros no tenemos nada que nos indique que hay que suspender la participación del equipo en la Copa de Oro. Obviamente es una preocupación latente, es imposible no imaginarte que ellos (los jugadores) estén preocupados, es evidente”, dijo en declaraciones a un medio electrónico mexicano.

    Respecto a la participación de Honduras en las Eliminatorias Mundialistas y su eventual clasificación a Sudáfrica, el federativo negó que la situación política se pueda convertir en un impedimento para cristalizar el sueño.

    "No lo creo yo, porque jugaremos en San Pedro Sula y habrá absoluta garantía de que el juego podrá realizarse”, concluyó.
