JOHANESBURGO (AP) - Brasil despertó con furia en el segundo tiempo y con un gol de cabeza de Lucio en la recta final le dio la vuelta al partido para vencer el domingo 3-2 a Estados Unidos, que tuvo en sus manos una gesta histórica, y proclamarse por tercera vez campeones de la Copa Confederaciones.

Abajo por dos goles tras el descanso, Brasil sacó a relucir toda su casta cuando se avizoraba un desenlace que hubiese dejado una fea mancha en su brillante historial.

Un doblete de Luis Fabiano, a los 46 y 74 minutos, empató una vibrante definición en el estadio Ellis Park de Johanesburgo, luego que tantos de Clint Dempsey y Landon Donovan, a los 10 y 27, habían adelantado al representante de la CONCACAF.

Cuando quedaban ocho minutos para el final, Lucio anotó de cabeza para inclinar la balanza a favor de los pentacampeones mundiales.

El gol de Lucio fue el sello de este Brasil que dirige el técnico Dunga. Elano cobró un tiro de esquina y el marcador central del Bayern Munich se elevó para cabecear al palo del arquero Tim Howard, quien por demás había tenido una actuación monumental.

Quizás no sea tan vistosa como otras, pero la actual "Canarinha" es letal en el juego aéreo y ejecuta las jugadas de pelota detenida con pericia de laboratorio.

Brasil logró revalidar en Sudáfrica el título del torneo que sirve de ensayo para la Copa Mundial que se disputará dentro de un año en el mismo país. La consagración fue su tercera en la Confederaciones y ahora es la selección con más títulos ganados en el certamen.

Sin embargo, al principio, la fría noche arrancó sonriéndole a Estados Unidos, que por primera vez en su historia disputaba la final de un torneo de envergadura tras haber dejado en el camino a la favorita España en la instancia previa.

Dempsey inauguró el marcador a la primera jugada de peligro de los estadounidense y luego de un comienzo alentador de Brasil. Facturó con un remate de primera a un centro de Jonathan Spector, anidando el balón ajustado en el palo derecho del arquero Julio César.

En la réplica, Robinho se perfiló tras una corrida por la izquierda y sacó un derechazo que provocó la primera de más de media docena de intervenciones sensacionales de Howard.

Aunque Brasil apretó el acelerador tras el golpe, el trámite adquirió una cariz que no le era agradable: cada vez que Estados unidos se arrimaba la zaga brasileña temblaba.

En el otro extremo, Howard y una sólida línea de defensores bloqueaba todo lo que tiraba Brasil.

Fue cuando cayó el segundo gol, en un vertiginoso controgolpe fraguado por Charlie Davies. Después de un córner, Davies avanzó por la izquierda y sirvió a Donovan, quien le hizo un recorte a Ramires antes de batir a Julio César con un remate cruzado.

Era la historia al revés del partido anterior, que habían jugando una semana y media atrás en Pretoria y en el que Brasil se adelantó 2-0 con un segundo gol convertido tras una contra.

El margen de dos tantos le ponía el partido cuesta arriba a los dirigidos por Dunga ante un oponente armado de una gran capacidad para defenderse.

Lo peor lo que le podía pasar a Estados Unidos era recibir un gol al salir del vestuario tras el intermedio, pero eso fue precisamente lo que ocurrió cuando Luis Fabiano descontó con un remate de media vuelta tras un centro de Ramires.

No se había cumplido el primer minuto del segundo tiempo y Brasil lo tenía para remontar.

Pero Howard volvió a ser el villano en su película cuando rechazó sendos cabezazos de Lucio y Kaká. El segundo, sin embargo, fue para la polémica, ya que por la televisión se apreció que Howard sus manos dentro del arco cuando manoteó la pelota.

Brasil finalmente logró empatar tras un pase bombeado de Kaká al centro del área, que inicialmente Robinho cabeceó en el travesaño y el rebote quedó para el testarazo de Luis Fabiano, quien quedó como máximo cañonero del torneo con cinco dianas.

Estados Unidos ya no pudo con la inexorable suerte del partido con un tercer tanto brasileño que se hacía inevitable.

uuuyyy azulito como se te nota la embidia se nota qoe estas bien pero bien frustado que embidiso que eres pero de una cosa si estoi seguro brasilero no eres para nada por que todos los amigos brasileron que tengo y con los cuales vimos el jugo nunguno dijo lo mismo que tu al menos ellos como campeones reconosen que USA tiene un gran team y te guste o no es mucho mejor que el tuyo

Mexico no es Brazil veremos que hace Mexico contra Estados Unidos ya que no le pudieron ganerle a Guatemala y eso que el ref les regalo el partido con no cobrar el penal contra Mexico.
