Cruzeiro y Estudiantes la final de Copa Libertadores

PORTO ALEGRE, Brasil (AP) - Cruzeiro consiguió un empate de 2-2 como visitante ante Gremio el jueves en un duelo brasileño que le valió el pase a la final de la Copa Libertadores la cual jugará ante Estudiantes de Argentina.

El resultado, sumado a su victoria por 3-1 de la semana pasada, aseguró a Cruzeiro el derecho de disputar el título del torneo continental ante Estudiantes de la Plata, de Argentina.

Cruzeiro de Belo Horizonte se fue arriba con dos goles seguidos de su ariete Wellington Paulista, mientras que Gremio empató en la segunda parte con tantos de Rever y Souza.

Gremio reforzó su línea de ataque con la entrada del argentino Germán Herrera como titular en lugar del veterano Alex Mineiro, un goleador de estirpe que lleva cuatro meses con la pólvora mojada, mientras que Cruzeiro contó de nuevo con el estelar volante Ramires, quien estuvo con la selección en la Copa Confederaciones.

La expulsión del volante Adilson a los 59 minutos, por una falta violenta sobre un rival, complicó las aspiraciones gremistas por alcanzar la urgente victoria.

En el arranque del partido, en el estadio Olímpico de Porto Alegre, el equipo local fue el más insistente en el ataque, con rápidas incursiones del argentino Maxi López, auxiliado por la presencia amenazante de Herrera.

Mientras tanto, Cruzeiro intentó administrar el juego con control de media cancha con jugadores capaces de retener el balón y lanzar ataques, como Ramires, Wagner y Marquinhos Paraná.

Con el 3-1 a su favor desde la semana pasada en el primer partido de la semifinal, el empate era un buen negocio para Cruzeiro.

Aún así, el equipo de Belo Horizonte aprovechó una jugada individual de Kléber por la derecha, cuando hizo gala de su habilidad para librarse de sus marcadores y servir al corazón del área, donde Wellington Paulista puso el 1-0 a los 34 minutos.

Tan solo dos minutos después, el mismo Wellington Paulista conectó de cabeza un centro de Jonathan para sentenciar el 2-0.

Los dos goles seguidos fueron un baldazo de agua fría para las aspiraciones de Gremio de equilibrar el marcador adverso que traía de la semana pasada y seguir a la fase final del torneo continental.

En la segunda parte, Herrera tuvo opciones de anotar para Gremio, pero la buena acción del arquero Fábio impidió el descuento en el marcador. Tuvo que ser el defensa Rever, quien logró cabecear un tiro de esquina a los 55 minutos para descontar.

Souza logró el empate a los 69 con un sensacional disparo desde fuera del área que dejó parado al arquero de Cruzeiro.
