    Deja Adu a la selección de EE.UU.

    WASHINGTON (AP) - Freddy Adu no jugará por la selección estadounidense en el resto de la Copa de Oro y se irá a Portugal para integrarse a la pretemporada del Benfica, dijo el técnico Bob Bradley después de la victoria 2-0 sobre Honduras.

    Adu marcó un gol el sábado en el triunfo de Estados Unidos 4-0 en su debut contra Granada. El miércoles tuvo un remate al arco y fue reemplazado a los 64 minutos.

    "Este será el último partido de Freddy en la Copa de Oro", expresó Bradley. "Ese era el arreglo desde el principio".

    Adu se marchará al Benfica, equipo con el que fichó en 2007. La temporada pasada, el club luso lo prestó al Monaco, donde jugó apenas 169 minutos en 10 partidos.

    "Es importante tener la pretemporada con tu equipo", dijo Adu. "Te da la mejor oportunidad de ser parte del equipo en la temporada".
