    Chile apunta a la cima de la Eliminatoria

    SANTIAGO DE CHILE (AP) - Chile utilizará un esquema netamente ofensivo el miércoles contra Bolivia para asegurar un triunfo que, dependiendo de otros resultados, podría darle el liderato en las eliminatorias mundialistas de Sudamérica.

    Chile está tercero en la tabla de posiciones con 23 puntos, uno menos que los punteros Brasil y Paraguay que chocan el mismo día en Recife. Un empate entre brasileños y guaraníes, sumado a un triunfo chileno en Santiago, dejaría a la "Roja" en el primer lugar de la eliminatoria.

    Si no hay empate en Recife, una victoria dejaría a Chile en segundo lugar.

    El técnico Marcelo Bielsa, que desde que tomó las riendas de Chile impuso un estilo de ataque, pondrá toda la carne al asador, según se ha podido ver en los entrenamientos.

    "Los tres puntos con Bolivia son tan importantes como los de Asunción", comentó el timonel argentino.

    Una de las fórmulas ensayadas es un esquema 3-2-2-3, con dos volantes ofensivos. Jorge Valdivia se sumaría a Matías Fernández en ese mediocampo ultraofensivo.

    Otra alternativa que manejaría Bielsa es la de mantener al también volante ofensivo Rodrigo Millar, que en el triunfo 2-0 el sábado sobre Paraguay cumplió cuando tuvo que reemplazar al lesionado delantero Mark González.

    Millar también podría sustituir al suspendido Carlos Carmona, un jugador de marca, y González, ya recuperado del golpe que lo hizo salir en el partido con Paraguay, mantendría su puesto en la delantera, sumándose a Alexis Sánchez y Humberto Suazo. Jean Beausejour, que en el partido con los paraguayos debió bajar a marcar al mediocampo, iría en su posición habitual de extremo por la izquierda.

    El portero Claudio Bravo fue, al igual que sus compañeros, cauto sobre un triunfo y la virtual clasificación.

    "No nos podemos confiar de que estamos clasificados, eso sería un error. Tampoco lo podemos hacer con Bolivia", señaló el capitán de la selección. "Ellos querrán recuperar el nivel que mostraron cuando ganaron a Argentina en La Paz y, como todos, son un adversario que nosotros respetamos".

    Bolivia, que llegaba el mediodía del martes a Santiago, lamenta dos bajas, las de su artillero Marcelo Martins y del volante Leonel Reyes, expulsados en la derrota 1-0 con Venezuela.

    El técnico Erwin Sánchez se dispondría a efectuar además otros cambios. En la defensa ingresaría el veterano Juan Manuel Peña y también retornarían al equipo Didí Torrico y Walter Flores, lo que se sumarían a Ronald García para reforzar el mediocampo boliviano.

    Se trata de una fórmula defensiva con un sólo jugador en punta como la que el técnico Erwin Sánchez utilizó en el partido de visita con Brasil, que le dio éxito al conseguir un sorpresivo empate a cero.

    "Habrá que aguantar a un Chile arrollador", expresó el portero Carlos Arias.

    Los bolivianos tienen 12 puntos y sólo le apuntan a meterse en la zona de repechaje.

    El partido se disputará en el Estadio Nacional a partir de las 21.00 (01.00 GMT).
