Beckham hace historia con Inglaterra

WEMBLEY, Inglaterra (AP) - El mediocampista David Beckham, disputó su partido 109 con la selección inglesa, un nuevo récord para un jugador que no sea arquero, y dio el pase para uno de los dos goles de Wayne Rooney en la victoria por 4-0 sobre Eslovaquia en un partido amistoso en Wembley.

Beckham entró a la cancha después del entretiempo y superó la antigua marca de 108 partidos de Bobby Moore. A los 70 minutos, envió un preciso centro que Rooney cabeceó para el segundo gol inglés el sábado.

"Es un logro increíble'', dijo Rooney, que agregó su segunda diana en los descuentos. "Todos en el vestuario estamos felices por él, y los fanáticos lo aman''.

Beckham, quien reemplazó a Aaron Lennon en el entretiempo, ahora sólo es superado por el arquero Peter Shilton y sus 125 partidos por Inglaterra.
